André Grenard Matsoua ma Ngoma, born in 1899 in Mandzaka-Kinkala in the Pool region of Kongo dia Mfua, died as a martyr in January 1942 in Mayama prison. Revered as one of the ancestors in the Kongo tradition, he was a great Ngunza who distinguished himself in his anti-colonial struggle.
